He was of the Order of the Powers.
Gallows Man
This is a small devil in a bottle of crystal. It gives its owner all sorts of joy and advantages in life, but the owner better get rid of it in time, because if you have it while you die you belong to the Devil. To get rid of it you must sell it for less than you bought it for... something that is not that easy in the long run.

A great marquis, appearing in the form of a small horse or ass, but afterwards in human shape. He speaks hoarsely, teaching the liberal sciences, and giving news of souls who had died in sin.

Gehenna
Gehenna is the unblesseds burning hell. The name is Greek but the origin is Hebrew. G'hinnóm, the Valley of Hinnom, is said to be a rubbish place southwest of Jerusalem and a fire were burning there constantly in which they threw, for example, animals who had died a natural death.
