Aurelius Conan

Aurelius Caninus, Aurelius Conanus

A Brittonic sixth century king in Britain.

Gildas, a contemporary, makes Aurelius Conan and Constantine local kings, calling the former Aurelius Caninus and saying that he enjoyed war and plunder.

Geoffrey of Monmouth, who lived in the twelfth century, used Gildas’ account when writing Historia Regum Britanniae, which in turn made Aurelius Conanus one of he legendary kings of Britain.
