The son of Gwyddno Garanhir. One of Arthur’s warriors, he was known as a “perverse and over-anxious” young man.

He rescued Taliesin when Ceridwen had placed him in a leather bag in the sea. Taliesin repaid Elphin’s kindniss by rescuing him when he was a prisoner of Maelgwyn.
