In the epic poem La Gerusalemme Liberata (Jerusalem Delivered), Morganetta is a beautiful sorceress who uses her powers to aid the Muslim army besieging Jerusalem.
She is the daughter of Morgan le Fay and is depicted as having a romantic relationship with one of the Muslim warriors, Clorinda.
She is one of the many colorful characters in the poem, which tells the story of the First Crusade and the Christian knights who fought to capture the holy city.
