River Tambre

The River Tamar forms the boundary between the counties of Cornwall and Devon in the southwest of England.

In Layamon, Arthur fights his final battle with Mordred at Camelford on the Tamar River.

Geoffrey of Monmouth calls the location Camel, and in Welsh sources, the conflict is called the battle of Camlann.
