When Gawain committed an offense against Vergulaht, Liddamus argued for Gawain’s execution; when Vergulaht refused, Liddamus suggested transferring the obligation to search for the Grail (which had been laid upon Vergulaht by Perceval) from Vergulaht to Gawain, which Vergulaht did.
