Preseli Hills

Preseli Hills Range, Preseli Mountains

The Preseli Hills is a range of hills in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

The Preseli Hills are famous for being the source of some of the bluestones used in the construction of Stonehenge, the prehistoric monument in Wiltshire, England. The transportation of these stones over significant distances is one of the mysteries of Stonehenge’s construction.

The hills are associated with Celtic mythology and legends. Local folklore connects the Preseli Hills to the Mabinogion, a collection of Welsh myths.

The area has archeological sites, including ancient burial chambers and standing stones. Bedd Arthur, Carreg Coetan Arthur, and Carn Arthur are objects related to the Arthurian legends.
